This is an exclusive wine dinner where we will taste through an array of top wines from the historical Masciarelli wine estate, located in Abruzzo, central Italy.

Masciarelli produces some of the best Trebbiano d'Abruzzo and Montepulciano d'Abruzzo wines from the special region of abruzzo.

The wine selection on the night will include the iconic Trebbiano d'Abruzzo Marina Cvetic and two reds produced in very different ways which showcase the best of what can be accomplished with the Montepulciano grape: Iskra and Villa Gemma. The grapes are from different vineyards: Iskra Montepulciano Colline Teramane DOCG comes from a vineyard at 200mt on sea leavel. It is at the “heart” of Masciarelli’s history and was first produced in 2003. Villa Gemma Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC comes from a small plot of 4 hectares which is 500 metres above the sea level. the wine is aged in oak for 18 months and left in bottle for 2 years before release.

Dario Poddana will be coming from the Masciarelli estate to present these prestigious wines and will be selecting some older vintages to taste on the night. The line up will be as follows:

  • Villa Gemma Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC 2014

These wines will be paired with a carefully selected 5 course menu by Damian Clisby, Chef Director of Petersham Nurseries Group in Covent Garden.

    The staff, venue, and overall experience was lovely. The event was marketed as a few hours long (I believe 9:30am-12:30pm) but we ended quite early. With this, I was expecting a bit more education or guidance on flowers than what was received. Overall, it was a nice morning but I was expecting just a bit more with the timing and cost.

    Really exceeded expectations! What a lovely night out, the 'chefs table' feeling and being part of a working kitchen was great, and the small group made it intimate and fun. The two chefs running our class were lovely, the food at the end was delicious, and the snacks & prosecco at the start was a nice touch. Hadn't expected a goodie bag either - it was so generous, the whole evening was such good value for money and I really recommend it.
