Kismet tells a story about imperfect people in a world obsessed with perfect matches, surrounded by curated online profiles and endless Tinder swiping. Sound familiar?
May 24th sees Gooce Supper Club and publishers Faber & Faber partner up to celebrate the launch of the novel Kismet, for a one-off singles supper club uniting like minded food lovers who want to get back to meeting people offline.
Held at Southwark Brewing Co., guests come solo or with mates, and can bond over three delicious courses inspired by scenes from the novel (see our sample menu here). And for drinks? Along with a strong welcome cocktail to ease any nerves, the Head Brewer has created a craft beer tasting flight, paired to each course, for all guests.
There’s no Cilla Black ‘match-making’. Sat on communal tables surrounded by perfectly crafted small batch beer, with a soundtrack of beats from HAIM through to Fleetwood Mac, guests can meet in a relaxed environment.
Kismet, debuting in May, tells the story of Anna, who like many millennials, at 29 is grappling with the central question of her life: is it time to settle for a secure and predictable existence, or should she risk everything for a life of passion and adventure? Her attempt to answer this centres on Kismet, a phone-based matchmaking app that works by compiling people’s online behaviour, that has now replaced traditional dating.

Please note the event’s menu takes inspiration from the Kismet story and substitutions for dietary requirements will not be possible. If you have any dietary requirements please get in touch in advance of booking and we can advise on the evening’s menu. (goocesupperclub@gmail.com).
We ask guests to arrive at 7pm when doors will open.
Please note this is an 18+ event for heterosexual singles between the ages 25-35. Proof of age may be required.
There will be photography and filming present during the course of the evening. On purchasing your ticket you are consenting to appear in these materials and for these materials to be utilised by Faber & Faber and Gooce Supper Club in perpetuity.

Gooce the Supper Club brings together a group of 8-10 eligible singles to bond over three courses.
Gabi and Luce (Gooce) are long time friends and housemates who’ve been dishing up in their dining room to appreciative guests for years.
Having both experienced the dating scene of mindlessly swiping and stilted blind-dates, Gooce wanted to bring a different experience to the table.
Guests come solo or with friends; the vibe is friendly not formal with great tunes setting a relaxed, lively tone for the night.
T&Cs
1. The ticket holder voluntarily assumes all risks and danger incidental to the event for which the ticket is issued, whether occurring prior, during or after the event. The ticket holder voluntarily agrees that the management, venue, event participants, DesignMyNight (WFL Media Ltd) and all of their respective agents, officers, directors, owners and employers are expressly released by the ticket holder from any claims arising from such causes.
2. Tickets are issued subject to the rules and regulations of the venue.
3. Please check your tickets, as mistakes cannot always be rectified.
4. Occasionally, events are cancelled or postponed by the promoter, team, performer or venue for a variety of reasons. If the event is cancelled, please contact us for information on receiving a refund from the responsible party. If the event was moved or rescheduled, the venue or promoter may set refund limitations. It is your responsibility to ascertain the date and time of any rearranged event.
5. The venue reserves the right to refuse admission and may on occasion have to conduct security searches to ensure the safety of the patrons.
6. Every effort to admit latecomers will be made at a suitable break in the event, but admission cannot always be guaranteed.
7. We regret that tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded after purchase.
8. Tickets are sold subject to the venue or promoter's right to alter or vary the programme due to events or circumstances beyond its control without being obliged to refund monies or exchange tickets.
9. If this ticket is re-sold or transferred for profit or commercial gain by anyone other than the promoter, venue management, DesignMyNight or one of their authorised sub-agents, it will become voidable and the holder may be
refused entry to or ejected from the venue.
10. The venue may operate a No Smoking Policy.
11. The promoter, venue management and DesignMyNight accept no responsibility for any personal property.
