Following a sell-out three-night run in June, dining pop-up fodder returns to Borough Wines' Brewery Below, with an innovative tasting menu celebrating the best of local, wild and foraged seasonal foods. This time around, chef Michael Thompson is joined in the kitchen by his former Fera at Claridges colleague and Roux Scholarship 2017 finalist Ollie Downey.

The young chefs honed their skills in kitchens including Jason Atherton at Pollen Street Social, The Grosvenor House Hotel, Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons and Le Gavroche. fodder is the culmination of their experience and skills, combining classical French training with modern British techniques and a love of produce-led cooking, developed during their time under Simon Rogan at Fera at Claridges.

The seven-course menu is a celebration of the seasonal British bounty and includes a number of foraged wild ingredients rarely seen on restaurant plates. As you would expect from a pop-up in the basement of a bottle shop - the drinks list is no afterthought; the Borough Wines drinks menu features wines, beers and spirit serves designed to complement the dishes and inspired by the menu's commitment to seasonality and wild produce. Drinks are available by the glass or as part of flights and can be pre-booked or bought on the night.

Every aspect of the meal tells a story, from the plates - which have been hand-crafted for the menu by the Clay Collective - to the ingredients on them, many of which have been handpicked in the wild by the fodder team.

fodder is part of the Urban Food Fortnight, a celebration of the ultra-local food being grown, made, cooked and saved on our doorstep.

Oh my- this is not your ordinary pop up. Went to Fodder last week, and quite simply it was superb- the highlight for me wasn't an individual course, but how well thought out the tasting menu was- each dish progressed on to the next one beautifully. Service was excellent and there are great recommendations available for wine and beers. This feels like a hidden gem, and I will be returning again during their residency..

I visited fodder only last week and I'm genuinely considering booking to go again. These guys deserve all the stars in the world. Every single course was just fantastic. I didn't want to leave! I've been lucky enough to sample tasting menus from around the world and this has got to be one of my favourites. Every single dish was executed superbly. The lamb 'nuggets' were just incredible - I think if I had to eat one thing for the rest of my life, that dish would be it. The staff were so lovely - extremely attentive and so knowledgable! Our table asked for advice numerous times and their wine suggestions were spot on. Thank you so much for a wonderful evening and keep doing what you're doing!

Another night of great food and new flavours from fodder - I have had the pleasure of eating here twice now. Sat at the chef's table we had a great view of the whole process and could ask about all of the foraged ingredients that were new experiences. Particularly enjoyed the smoky mushroom and sweet corn snack but the blackcurrant, sour cream, fig leaf dessert was a triumph. I also recommend getting the beer flight, some delicious features on there and staff were very knowledgable. Visited Brewery Below on 2017-09-07

I visited the fodder pop up last week to see if they could top their last residency in June, and I have barely stopped thinking about it since. Every dish was fantastic - just perfectly proportioned and with a superb balance of flavours. We happened to be sat at the chef's table, which gives a wonderful view of the guys working in harmony on their dishes, and the fact that they're plated up on such gorgeous artisan ceramics is an extra treat. The lovely hosting team are very knowledgeable about their wines, so don't miss their advice if you aren't doing the wine flight. I have encouraged friends, family and colleagues to go as well, and am genuinely considering going again before the month's up :) :) Visited Brewery Below on 2017-09-07

Don't normally write reviews but felt compelled to for this! Really top-notch evening full of lovely food and gorgeous wine. What's not to like? Particularly enjoyed the Cod - so tender and flavoursome it was hard to pick up with a fork! Planning to go again before the end of the run. Also I doth my cap to the organisers - the locally sourced produce/locally designed plates/bowls is a really nice touch. Visited Brewery Below on 2017-09-07

Excellent food and I loved the fact that it was local and seasonal. The only course I wasn't so keen on was the lamp nuggets, otherwise it was exceptional. The wines were fantastic. My only criticism is that the gap between courses was extremely long - we didn't receive our final course until 11pm (arrived at 8.45pm). I also thought the event could have worked really nicely as more of a supper club than just a pop up restaurant. Otherwise, great food, drink and ambience. Visited Brewery Below on 1970-01-01
