Join us at Douk, a fundraising food market celebrating the cuisine and culture of Lebanon and the region.
On Sunday 2 February, let's come together at Douk, an indoor food market to be held at Comptoir Libanais, Gloucester Road from 2pm to 5pm.
This is a pre-ticketed event. Tickets cost £14 and include 2 food tokens provided on the day which can be redeemed at the chef's stalls.
We will be joined by amazing chefs and restaurants, including Philip Khoury, Joseph's, Common Breads, Ta’mini, Toum & Tahini, Lina Saad, Salwa, Aline, Toum, Dina Foods and Cakes by Claudine. There will also be artisan products for sale from Shorkk, Maison Samadi, Raghwé, Lilly Morgan Art and Amoul.
All proceeds from this event will go to Bedayati, a charity which works at the grassroots level to help displaced families in Lebanon and empower marginalised youth and women through skills training, including Culinary Entrepreneurship training. Trustees of the charity will be present at the event to talk to guests about their work and sell copies of their charity cookbook, Olive Trail. What to expect at Douk
Incredible food
Our chefs have worked hard to curate dishes that represent them and Lebanese and Levantine cuisine as a whole. Many come with a personal story, make sure to ask them, they’d be happy to share.
Most food is either halal or vegetarian but we can’t accommodate any specific dietaries. Any food or drink may contain or may have come in contact with any or multiple allergenic ingredients.
Artisan products
As well as ready to eat food, retailers will be selling Lebanese or Lebanese inspired artisan products. Think award-winning chocolates, handcrafted labneh balls in jars, premium extra virgin olive oil from Akkar, deliciously smelling soaps and gorgeous artwork.
Queues
Whilst we will do our best to ensure the smooth entry of guests through our market, please bring your beanies and gloves for any queue outside the venue and your patience for any waiting time once inside.
Accessibility
Unfortunately, our indoor market downstairs is not wheelchair accessible. However, there is a seating area on the ground floor with priority for guests with mobility issues.
A place to sit and enjoy the food, and drink
Guests are welcome to sit at the tables on the ground floor to eat, provided they purchase a drink from the bar at the restaurant. The full drinks menu will be available and the sale and purchase of these is directly through the restaurant, not part of Douk. There's no table service and we politely ask our guests to be mindful that there's limited seating so please leave your table tidy, in good time, and ready for the next guests to enjoy.
