Our older and younger neighbours are most at risk of loneliness and many have experienced further isolation due to Covid-19.
During the pandemic, many of our neighbours’ physical health declined due to shielding and isolation. Many, particularly those with reduced mobility, cited our active social clubs as instrumental to their physical and mental health while isolating. Coming out of the lockdown, our active clubs were paramount to enabling our neighbours to have access to an active and healthy lifestyle. There is a direct correlation between loneliness and poor physical health. As we know, research shows loneliness can lead to physical impairments such as increased risk of dementia, heart disease and strokes. By participating in our active clubs, neighbours are giving themselves the opportunity to remain active.

Through our Active Social Clubs we’ll reduce loneliness and strengthen connections across the generations through fun and accessible physical activities, such as chair yoga, dance classes and walking football.

By buying a ticket you’ll be helping to make these important activities possible. Thank you.
