What happens when the greatest obstacles we face are not simply physical, but bound up with how we see ourselves — and how others see us?
Beyond Limits brings together two deeply human films about people confronting circumstances that threaten to define them. From a young boy losing his sight to a woman preparing to take on one of the world’s most demanding races while living with serious health challenges, these stories explore faith, determination, identity and what it means to keep moving forward when the path ahead is anything but certain.
Blind Faith — Directed by Claire Coaché &
Lisle Turner
A young Nigerian boy is losing his sight. As his deeply religious
parents struggle to accept what is happening to their son, their
faith in the possibility of healing brings them to a moment where
belief, disability and the expectations of those around them
collide. Moving and thought-provoking, Blind Faith asks difficult questions about faith,
acceptance and what it truly means to see another
person.
Toni’s Marathon — Directed by Giacomo
Gex
Toni is a recovering addict living with Multiple Sclerosis and
Hyperkalemic Periodic Paralysis — and she has set herself an
extraordinary challenge: completing the 26.2 miles of the London
Marathon. Following six months of preparation, Toni’s Marathon
captures the setbacks,
determination and deeply personal journey behind every mile as Toni
pushes towards a goal that demands far more than physical
endurance.
Together, Beyond Limits challenges us to reconsider what limitation really means — and to recognise the courage, complexity and possibility within lives too easily defined by what they cannot do.
