We are really excited for this next masterclass @ Keystone Crescent. This one will be hosted by Terlingham Vineyards.
Terlingham Vineyards are run by a wonderful family based in the picturesque heart of the Kentish Downs. One of the great things about Terlingham Vineyard is that all of their wines are free from pesticides, fertilisers and herbicides and encourage all natural and wild growing flowers to grow with the grapes! Not only are they known for their award winning wines, but their gin called Bacchus Dry Gin has just won "World’s Best 9 New Gins Tried And Tested" from Forbes Magazine - https://terlinghamvineyard.co.uk/in-the-media/
What to expect?
We will be pairing the wines with cheese that compliment them the most. The wines we will trying are:-
Still wine
2021 Chardonnay - Won Bronze award at the 2022 WineGB awards. Lightly oaked, fresh and citrusy with hints of vanilla, preserved lemon and green peach on the nose, sweet orchard fruits on the palate with a bright, zesty acidity. It's clean minerality is a fantastic counterbalance to creamy cheeses such as goats cheese or brie
2021 Rose - Won bronze award at the 2022 WineGB awards. This blend of Pinot Noir and Dornfelder grapes has fresh wild raspberry, ginger and blackcurrant on the nose. On the palate, red apple and thyme followed by a delicious cheery-plum finish. A wonderful summer wine, this pairs very well with fresh cheeses like burrata or mozzarella.
Sparkling
2019 Sparkling White - silver award at the 2021 IEWA awards and named one of Countryfile's top 10 Sparkling Wines to try this year. Made from a noble Champagne blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, this sparkling wine has soft aromas of orchard fruit and pie crust on the nose. On the palate, there is a lovely creamy mousse and with ripe lemon and delightful blossom notes. The high acidity and freshness of this sparkling wine is a lovely contrast to a Camembert’s creaminess, which is very satisfying.
2019 Sparkling Pink - Made from a noble Champagne blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, this sparkling wine is a beautiful rose petal pink in colour with a hint of cassis on the nose. An explosion of red berry fruit on the palate is combined with soft biscuit notes and a tangy finish. This sparkling wine pairs well with fresh cheese such as chevre, fromage blanc, or fresh mozzarella.
Gin
Bacchus Dry Gin - Our award-winning Bacchus wine gives it a delicate sweetness, with notes of elderflower. Then fresh lime and orange peel. Finally, we add a touch of honey in the distillation. Gin is very versatile when it comes to food pairings.
