The world of sparkling wine is a wide one with some particularly wonderful examples coming from South Africa. The traditional method of sparkling wine was pioneered in France but it has found a home around the world with producers creating wines that balance freshness, fruit and luxury. But which holds the crown?
On 10 June at our Great Portland Street store we will be joined by members of the winemaking team from leading South African producer L’Ormarins to present a trio of their wines, while The Whisky Exchange’s own Dawn Davies MW pits them against a selection of sparkling wines from around the world.
L’Ormarins is a leading producer of Cap Classique, traditional method sparkling wine from South Africa. The estate is located in the cooler region of Franschhoek that means that the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grown here retain a bright freshness, perfect for world beating sparkling wine.
