Rockin Blues with Eric Ranzoni

Tuesday to Friday every week in September we’re presenting a wide range of the best in blues.  On Fridays it’s  Brixton harmonica man and mellow singer Errol Linton on the 6^th and 20^th and we have a rare  visit from the Scottish boogie-woogie master Daniel Smith on the 12^th and 13^th – Daniel is joined by Rockabilly Hall of Fame bassist Pete Pritchard on the 12^th and Jools Holland’s bassist Dave Swift on the 13^th.  The vocals plus guitar and piano of the blues veterans Haddrell and Haves are back with us on the 27^th.

Lovers of New Orleans will be delighted to hear that piano maestro Dom Pipkin is back on 3^rd, 17^th and 24^th and our regular keyboard man Moonis Macdonald does the 4th, 10^th, 18th and 25^th. The Rockin’ Roman Eric Ranzoni joins us on the 6^th and we have another Italian act on the 11^th – the very popular Dust Me Down Blues Band.  Last but not least Boisdale veteran T.J. Johnson sings and plays with his guest sax players on the 19^th and 26^th.  It’s a great month of blues and we hope to see you at the City’s finest (and cosiest) live music venue just a few steps away from Liverpool Street station.

Eric Ranzoni is “The Rockin’ Roman” and a veteran of Boisdale’s music scene.  His infectious enthusiasm and sheer delight in performing always creates a wonderful atmosphere.  An unbeatable mix of blues, rock’n’roll and La Dolce Vita!

Sourcing the greatest grass-fed Aberdeenshire beef is crucial to Boisdale but equally so is the attention to detail involved in the dry ageing and the actual cutting. All the beef supplied to Boisdale is from the very best certified beef suckler herds of Aberdeenshire Boisdale is wild about game and all manner of chase and fowl find their way to the tables, be it red grouse – the ultimate game bird uniquely indigenous to Scotland and northern England or Highland venison, the regulars’ favourite served hot smoked with a black truffle dressing. Wildfowl, hare, partridge – all can be enjoyed in the Boisdale restaurants when in season.


Gourmets can also delight in arguably the best beef in the world: 28-40 day matured purebred dry-aged Aberdeenshire steak as well as other remarkable meat that includes Highland Blackface Lamb.

The most famous Scottish export after whisky - smoked salmon - comes to Boisdale from award-winning, small family-owned farms and smokehouses. Other fish specialities include the diver-gathered Orkney King scallops, Loch Ryan native oysters, organic West Minch salmon from South Uist, sweet dill-pickled herring from the Summer Isles, as well as abundant varieties of other seafood.
