Mrs Black’ tells the story of Essex Comedian of the Year Josh James and his unbreakable bond with Grandmother Kathleen Black, an unforgiving, aggressive and no nonsense 96 year old cockney straight from the mean streets of East London. Throughout her life Mrs Black has survived The Krays, poverty and even a World War… nonetheless her final fight against old age looms and she is heading into battle alongside her Grandson, equipped only with a sense a humour.

During this 1 hour of uncensored stand-up comedy, leave your political correctness at the door and come prepared to laugh in the face of all that’s morbid.



Josh James is a 28 year old up and coming Stand Up Comedian who is attempting to make sense of the world.

The comedy pride of Essex, his quick audience interaction and sharp/uncensored material tackling a variety of subjects including Brexit, Dementia and Caitlyn Jenner have won him praise during his short time on the UK comedy circuit. 

He is a recent Winner of The Comedy Store London's King Gong Show and The Essex Comedian of the Year 2019.

    Fantastic evening! The comedians were really funny, which was all the more admirable as we were a very small audience so it must have been quite unsettling for them. And all for a super cheap price, so why go without?

    Can't go wrong with the Cabin and the comedians they bring. 4 acts and I'm still struggling to choose my favourite. Different styles, new material night. Super, super fun.
