Stand-up and improv comedy unite in one explosively funny night! Join us as a cast of experienced improvisers weave a (dramatic! funny! exciting!) play in three acts based on the work of three (hilarious! explosive! very attractive!) stand-up comedians.
Originally produced at Unexpected Productions in Seattle, USA, Piggyback has been a cult hit in the States, and that are “straight up stoked” to bring the underground phenomenon to a new home in London. This show features Lucy Roper, Ross Smith and Jon Long.
Lucy Roper was a Laughing Horse New Act Of The Year Finalist in 2015. She made her Edinburgh Fringe debut last year with a double-bill show, ‘Michael and Roper: Three’s A Crowd, Four’s An Audience’, and had a packed house at her new work in progress ‘Girlfriend Material’ at Leicester Comedy Festival this year. According to Broadway Baby she is: “Sitting somewhere between Milton Jones’ abstract tidbits and Noel Fielding’s quiet oddness”.
Ross Smith is a comedian, MC, writer, actor and So You Think You’re Funny 2015 Semi-Finalist! Jason hanford called him: “Brilliant!- You know an act has confidence in his jokes when he laminates them!” And So You Think You’re Funny’s Julia Chamberlain said he was: “Smart and refreshingly clean material, Ross has the composure and likeability to go far”.
Jon Long performs stand up comedy with songs. His laid back, affable style and sharp writing have seen him win the Comedy Store King Gong and made Audience Favourite at the Musical Comedy Awards 2016. Bruce Dessau described his comedy as: “Clever gags and witty songs…delivered with laser-guided timing”.
