Mother's Comedy Ball is a new monthly comedy night bringing you the funniest and most diverse of London's up and coming comedians.
We are passionate to bring you the best of all London's rising stars, including the talents of women, LGBTQIA, POC, people with disabilities and neurodiverse communities.
This month’s line up includes:
HANNAH BRISSENDEN: Hannah Brissenden is an Aussie stand up and writer who moved to London for the weather and affordability. Her dead pan comedy is an exploration and exposé of life behind the vegan yoga loving millennial stereotype. Spoiler alert it’s exactly what you think.
IFFY TELLS JOKES: British-Pakistani, Muslim, Queer and working-class; Iffy ticks many diversity boxes which inspires inimitable anecdotal gags, very unusual skits and hilarious autobiographical material.
DICK DENHAM: In their stand-up, they talk about being fem, genderqueer, and a practising (if somewhat lapsed… not for want of trying) homosexual, as well as sharing surreal observations on their lower-middle class London life and British culture.
A semifinalist in the 2 Northdown New Act Competition 2021, Dick can be found on instagram as @dick.denam.
ADAM COUMAS: Described by Chortle's Steve Bennett as having a 'muscular delivery' (whatever that means) Adam Coumas is probably the most 'robust' comedian this side of the Atlantic. Originating from Croydon, the undisputed jewel of South London, his delightfully dark manner, twisted charm and derisive punchlines have brought him recognition among some of the UK's biggest comedy clubs.
SUZIE PREECE:South Londoner Suzie Preece is a Funny Women Semi-Finalist 2019 and performed a debut split-bill in Edinburgh 2019.
“Suzie Preece is a standout” - Kate Maltby, The Times
“...it's Preece who stands out” - Sally Stott, The Scotsman
LESLIE GOLD: Leslie Gold So You Think You're Funny semi-finalist 2021 West End New Act Competition quarter-finalist 2022 An American in London, Leslie explores everyday topics from her no-nonsense New Jersey perspective, delivered with an oddly compelling transatlantic accent.
ANTHONY GILET: Fresh off his first one-hour show at Edinburgh Fringe, dating blogger and podcaster Anthony Gilét relishes in the type of humour you probably shouldn’t laugh at… but definitely still will. He was a semi-finalist for Max Turner Prize 2019.
And your Comedy Mother is MEERA CADE performance artist, comedian, retired porn star and single mum.
