Learn to dance ballroom and socialise in style, Classes designed for beginners and rusty dancers who have musicality- that is they can identify the beat at the beginning of each bar of music.

We do the absolute beginners'  lessons from 6.pm to 7.15p,pm, and the impovers class from 7.30pm to 9pm, then from 9pm there is one hour of social dancing to vintage dance music. The dances taught will be waltz, social rhythm, quickstep, slow foxtrot, and tango, and they are taught in bi-weekly rotation. The vintage records we play will be as above, plus some rumba, jive, Charleston and samba

We have designed a new style of teaching ballroom  that will enable those with musicality to progress far faster. Ballroom is simply walking in time, in coordination with a partner, to music. Music is your friend in learning to dance, not an obstacle. Our aim is for 80% of students to be able to competently and joyfully get around the floor after one lesson, and for 70% to have made sufficient progress to join the improver class after two lessons. So- progress from the beginners to the improvers class will be rapid.

Ourhead  trainer is Raymond Root who won the world ballroom championships in 1969, and may other world class competitions

We encourage those without partners to come, and encourage all our students and guests to change partners throughout the evening. Please note, it is easier and faster for followers (usually women) to become competent in ballroom than leaders (usually men), So, generally speaking, men have to work harder and practice more.

We hold black tie balls one Friday a month in the same building where we hire an orchestra, so you will have a convenient and friendly place to practice your new skills in a social situation. We also provide  all our students with an on line list of all the other progressive partnered dance events in London.

Our aim is to introduce those with musiciality to the world of progressive partnered dancing, and produce our own dances with live music,  where such skills may be tested and put to fun use in a civilised environment .

There is a also  good quality Indian canteen in the same building with a set three course menu (from 7pm to 8.30pm) for £8.50.
