Join 3D Printing Pen Artist Grace Du Prez for a unique workshop in her studio: The Doodle Laboratory.

Grace has been working with this technique since 2014 and has worked on record breaking projects such as a life sized car. She has been running these workshops for over a year so knows all the best hints and tricks for beginners.

Whether it’s something you've never tried before or you have your own pen and want a hand getting started, it is a fun-filled way to spend a few of hours and perfect for those that want to try something a little bit different.


So what is a 3D Printing Pen?!

It's a handheld version of 3D Printing that lets you to draw with plastic in the air. It's really fun! It combines all the excitement and innovation of new technology with the care and love of something handmade.

In this class we will be using a 3Doodler Start. This is a kids friendly 3D Pen uses a specially developed bio-plastic so there are no hot parts. It's even RNIB approved.

What will we do in the class?

This family friendly class will look at mastering the basic principles such as drawing into the air, constructing 3D Shapes from templates and building up objects with layers.

Who's the class for?

The class is for ages 7+ and the young at heart, fun for the whole family. 

What will be included in the workshop? 

Everything is included so you just need to bring yourself.

For every ticket you will each get:

- A 3D Pen to use

- All materials and templates

- Refreshments and nibbles

(If you have any dietary requirements or allergies please let me know before the class) 

- A tote bag to take all your creations safely home in 

Where will the class take place?

The class will be held in The Doodle Laboratory, Grace's studio which is part of The View Tube.

Situated overlooking The Queen Elizabeth Olympic you get the unique opportunity of seeing behind the scenes of whatever Grace's latest project is.

There are lots of lovely studios to look round including illustrators, artists, jewellery makers, fashion designers and lots more!

These also a great cafe and you can even hire a bike!

 

How to get to The Doodler Laboratory?

The nearest station is Pudding Mill lane which is one stop from Stratford on the DLR.

- Come out the station and follow the signs to The Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

-Walk straight ahead until you see a tunnel on your left. 

-Go through the tunnel and you will see a zebra crossing.

-Go over the zebra crossing and zig-zag up the ramp, you should see the bright green building that is The View Tube.

-Once you see the big silver ball sculpture, turn right and you will see a row of studios.

-Walk along until you see studio 4

-The whole journey from the station is under 5 minutes. 

Please check The  TFL website just in case the station is closed.

If it is you can enjoy a walk through The Olympic from Stratford which takes about 20-30 minutes. 

Alternatively you can walk from Hackney Wick Overground.

The ticket holder voluntarily agrees that the management, venue, event participants, DesignMyNight (WFL Media Ltd) and all of their respective agents, officers, directors, owners and employers are expressly released by the ticket holder from any claims arising from such causes.
2. Tickets are issued subject to the rules and regulations of the venue.
3. Please check your tickets, as mistakes cannot always be rectified.
4. Occasionally, events are cancelled or postponed by the promoter, team, performer or venue for a variety of reasons. If the event is cancelled, please contact us for information on receiving a refund from the responsible party. If the event was moved or rescheduled, the venue or promoter may set refund limitations. It is your responsibility to ascertain the date and time of any rearranged event.
5. The venue reserves the right to refuse admission and may on occasion have to conduct security searches to ensure the safety of the patrons.
6. Every effort to admit latecomers will be made at a suitable break in the event, but admission cannot always be guaranteed.
7. We regret that tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded after purchase.
8. Tickets are sold subject to the venue or promoter's right to alter or vary the programme due to events or circumstances beyond its control without being obliged to refund monies or exchange tickets.
9. If this ticket is re-sold or transferred for profit or commercial gain by anyone other than the promoter, venue management, DesignMyNight or one of their authorised sub-agents, it will become voidable and the holder may be
refused entry to or ejected from the venue.
10. The venue may operate a No Smoking Policy.
11. The promoter, venue management and DesignMyNight accept no responsibility for any personal property.
12. The event listed on the purchased ticket is strictly for ticket holders who are over 18 years of age. Identification may be required.
