Dance and especially ballet is so much about what you do outside of the studio! Understanding how to safely and effectively condition your body is an important skill. We know how important it is to go back to the basics and set a solid foundation for our ballet practice. It is the refining of our technique that frees the opportunity for artistry, musicality and style.
This class will focus on improving and enhancing your ballet technique and flexibility, providing tools, tips and exercises which will help to transform your extensions, turnout, turns and leaps. We will also revisit and break down some of the moves you will come across in your regular ballet classes and explain how to do them well, in greater detail and at a slower pace. This is an opportunity for dancers to specifically focus on problem areas and develop a deeper understanding of how to improve. Each week has a different focus, so attend the ones that interest you or simply swing by every week!
This class is complementary to our Intermediate and Beginner classes but can also be attended as a stand alone class.
The upcoming weeks will have the following focus:
Sunday 05th January: Ankles and Arches
Sunday 12th January: Activating Turnout
Sunday 19th January: Pose turns
Sunday 26th January: Stretching for splits
