The Show
Sit back with a drink and enjoy Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee Andrew Maxwell as he takes the virtual spotlight for an hour of LIVE world-class stand-up comedy.
All performed via a Zoom meeting unlike any other. Forget online meetings with Michael boring the life out of everyone with his P&L, or another bloomin' quiz from Carol. This is one of comedy's most respected comedians - performing live and direct - especially for you via Zoom.
Tickets are strictly limited so be quick, this is a live comedy event you don't want to miss. Oh, and since you don't have to travel and there's no venue, tickets are more affordable.

About Andrew Maxwell
Renowned for his insightful social commentary and cutting edge humour, double Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee, Andrew Maxwell is a must-see for any live comedy fan.
Star of JOHN BISHOP’S ONLY JOKING on Sky, BBC’s LIVE AT THE APOLLO, host of the BBC3 EDINBURGH COMEDY MARATHON & series regular on Sky’s WALL OF FAME, Andrew’s comedy style impressively thrives on both stage and screen. As well as many sell-out shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe throughout his career, Andrew has also performed at The Amnesty / Channel Four Secret Policeman’s Ball (alongside Eddie Izzard, Chevy Chase and Dylan Moran), Glastonbury, Kilkenny’s Cat Laughs, The HBO US Comedy & Arts Festival in Las Vegas (alongside Jerry Seinfeld and Chris Rock), and made several appearances at the Montreal Just for Laughs Festival.
Andrew has earned much industry respect, having won and been nominated for several major awards including the Time Out Live Award for Best Stand-up, and the Chortle Award for Best Contribution To The Live Comedy Circuit. Andrew’s recent appearances on BBC’s HAVE I GOT NEWS FOR YOU, ITV2’S CELEBRITY JUICE, the Dave Channel’s ARGUMENTAL, BBC2’s MOCK THE WEEK and R4’s THE NOW SHOW, have cemented his reputation as one of the country’s most sought after comedians.
About the Organisers: 'NextUp' & COVID-19
At NextUp, our mission is to amplify the power of comedy whilst supporting comedians and the wider comedy community in as many ways as possible.
Since COVID-19, we've been flat out trying to support performers as best we can, initiatives include:
- A JustGiving fundraising campaign to financially support comedians who need it most. At the time of writing it's raised over £100,000.
- A live-streaming service called NextUp Now that gives comedians a virtual live-streaming stage to perform and earn revenue from.
- Doubling our commission payouts to any venue or comedian who promotes our video subscription service, helping them earn easy additional revenue.
- Ticketed live gigs via Zoom (like this one) that present comedians a 'closed-door' comedy club-like scenario to practice their material and earn revenue from.
It's going to be a while before live comedy returns to its normal state but we're determined in the meantime to create a working model that benefits everyone and we'd like to thank you for your supporting this gig, and live comedy.

House Rules
- Tickets are limited so please don't wait to grab yours.
- The virtual comedy gig takes place in a Zoom meeting so be sure you have that app on your computer or phone. Make sure your microphone input volume is set to 20% and you wear headphones so we can hear everyone and there's no feedback. We'd encourage you to turn your video on too but that's optional. Like a comedy gig, the focus is on the performer but it's nice to generate a bit of a virtual atmosphere, so the more of you we can see and hear, the better.
- Also like an in-person comedy gig, you can be also be removed by the host if you decide to fly off the chain.
- Once you've bought a ticket, you will be emailed a unique Zoom link for you to login with. Only one person can use each Zoom link so please do not share your link or both people won't get in.

1. The ticket holder voluntarily assumes all risks and danger incidental to the event for which the ticket is issued, whether occurring prior, during or after the event. The ticket holder voluntarily agrees that the management, venue, event participants, DesignMyNight (WFL Media Ltd) and all of their respective agents, officers, directors, owners and employers are expressly released by the ticket holder from any claims arising from such causes.
2. Tickets are issued subject to the rules and regulations of the venue.
3. Please check your tickets, as mistakes cannot always be rectified.
4. Occasionally, events are cancelled or postponed by the promoter, team, performer or venue for a variety of reasons. If the event is cancelled, please contact us for information on receiving a refund from the responsible party. If the event was moved or rescheduled, the venue or promoter may set refund limitations. It is your responsibility to ascertain the date and time of any rearranged event.
5. The venue reserves the right to refuse admission and may on occasion have to conduct security searches to ensure the safety of the patrons.
6. Every effort to admit latecomers will be made at a suitable break in the event, but admission cannot always be guaranteed.
7. We regret that tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded after purchase.
8. Tickets are sold subject to the venue or promoter's right to alter or vary the programme due to events or circumstances beyond its control without being obliged to refund monies or exchange tickets.
9. If this ticket is re-sold or transferred for profit or commercial gain by anyone other than the promoter, venue management, DesignMyNight or one of their authorised sub-agents, it will become voidable and the holder may be
refused entry to or ejected from the venue.
10. The venue may operate a No Smoking Policy.
11. The promoter, venue management and DesignMyNight accept no responsibility for any personal property.
12. The event listed on the purchased ticket is strictly for ticket holders who are over 18 years of age. Identification may be required.
