Daddy Bao is a Taiwanese restaurant in Tooting.
The second restaurant by the man behind Peckham’s Mr Boa, this venue takes its name from his dad, a former restauranteur and inspiration for the brand. The menu is a mixture of classic Mr Bao dishes mixed in with a few exclusives to the site.
As the name suggests, they specialise in bao buns, such as their Mr Bao, made from slow braised Flock & Herd pork, pickles and peanut powder, alongside smaller dishes to share like pork dumplings or sesame spinach. Drinks are classic cocktails with a Taiwanese twist, like the sake martini or Szechuan Old Fashioned, as well as special lychee craft beers from Old Kent Road Brewery. Their brunch is very popular thanks to the tasty Bao benedict and bottomless cocktails.
