Now Open

From Catalonia to California, Victor Garvey's Soho haunt Rambla is getting an all-American makeover this autumn. The Dean Street restaurant, which has been closed for refurbishment, will open its doors again in November as the Los Angeles-inspired SO|LA.

The revamp is set to be a radical one, with everything from the seating to the staff uniforms getting a full makeover, but it's the food that will be seeing the biggest impact. The new SO|LA offering will be comprised of three menus - an à la carte, a five-course set selection and a ten-course one - and guests will be able to enjoy a host of new, unique dishes, including kingfish crudo with miso ice cream, sunchoke tortellini, and devilled eggs with pumpkin seeds and Espelette pepper.

The wine list will make the most of California's heralded wine-country, putting focus on known-names as well as smaller, independent producers. There is also one particular bottle worth looking out for: the Green & Red Vineyards zinfandel, a.k.a. the 'house zinfandel' of pioneering Berkeley restaurant, Chez Panisse.
