Ducksoup

Description

Sitting proudly on Dean Street, Ducksoup is one of Soho’s original cool‑kids destinations, effortlessly blending rustic charm with a laid‑back, no‑frills attitude. The space is small, intimate and always humming, with scrubbed wooden tables, an open kitchen and a much‑loved vinyl record player that guests are encouraged to use. It’s sociable, unfussy and full of character - exactly the kind of place you pop into “for one” and end up staying all night.

Founded by Clare Lattin, Tom Hill and Rory McCoy, with Hill heading up the kitchen, Ducksoup champions modern European cooking rooted in simplicity and seasonality. The handwritten menu changes frequently, driven by what’s freshest and most exciting at the time, and dishes are confident but understated - letting top‑quality ingredients take centre stage. Alongside the food is a carefully curated list of natural and low‑intervention wines, which has become just as much of a draw as the cooking itself.

A long‑standing Soho favourite, Ducksoup has picked up a SquareMeal Bronze Award and continues to be celebrated for its relaxed approach and consistently thoughtful food. Whether you’re perched at the bar with a glass of wine or settling in for a leisurely dinner, it’s a quintessential London restaurant – buzzy, individual and refreshingly unpretentious.
