Aki London

Description

Aki London brings a bold fusion of contemporary Japanese cuisine and Mediterranean warmth to One Cavendish Square. Housed within a £15 million-transformed Grade II-listed former banking hall, the restaurant marries historic grandeur with Kyoto-inspired artistry, courtesy of AD100 designer Francis Sultana.

The dramatic main dining room, with soaring ceilings, plaster trees, and cloud motifs, sets the stage for an 80-cover dining experience, while the private dining room and underground vault bar, Kiyori, offer intimate, immersive spaces layered with Japanese-inspired detail and 1920s exoticism.

The menu celebrates Kyoto’s farm-to-table ethos, reimagined through modern techniques like fish-to-tail cooking and in-house fermentation. Dishes such as tuna tartare with puffed rice and caviar, wagyu tataki with truffle and brown butter, and hay-smoked scallop with tofu and fuji apple jelly exemplify the restaurant’s inventive approach.

Aki’s 80 in-house micro-farms, along with licensed Kobe beef, reflect a commitment to sustainability and authenticity, while the cocktail menu showcases seasonal Japanese ingredients in inventive, artful combinations.

Complemented by a curated contemporary art collection and the late-night energy of Kiyori, Aki London is a standout addition to the capital’s dining scene - a refined yet playful meeting of Japanese precision and European sophistication.
