Description
Perched above the bustling Borough Market, OMA is London’s first Greek restaurant to earn a Michelin star, and it’s easy to see why. Conceived by chef Jorge Paredes and restaurateur David Carter, OMA is a celebration of the Greek Isles, infused with bold Levantine influences and a touch of coastal elegance. The space is intimate and atmospheric, with an open kitchen that glows with the fire of a charcoal grill, and a crudo bar that greets guests with dramatic displays like a whole tuna head on ice. The setting is both refined and relaxed, with a covered terrace and thoughtfully restored interiors that echo the serenity of the Aegean.
OMA’s menu is a masterclass in balance - earthy yet refined, rustic yet precise. Dishes are cooked over open flame or in coal-braised clay pots, delivering deep, smoky flavours. Highlights include delicately prepared raw seafood, grilled lamb with Mediterranean herbs, and inventive vegetable-led plates that showcase seasonal produce. The wine list (featuring over 400 bottles) is a standout in itself, with a focus on Greek and coastal wines that mirror the restaurant’s sun-washed, saline spirit.
