Trullo

Description

Nestled on St Paul’s Road in Islington, Trullo has become a cornerstone of North London’s dining scene. Since opening in 2010, it’s earned a loyal following for its rustic Italian cooking, relaxed charm, and commitment to quality. The interiors are understated and warm, with a split-level layout, wooden floors, and an open kitchen that adds to the buzz.

Trullo’s daily changing menu is rooted in Italian tradition, with a strong emphasis on handmade pasta and dishes cooked over a charcoal grill. Highlights include pappardelle with beef shin ragu, fettuccine with fennel sausage, and roast Anjou pigeon. The menu is seasonal, and the kitchen adapts it twice daily to reflect the freshest ingredients. There’s also a 40-day-aged Hereford T-bone for two that’s become something of a signature.

Led by chef Tim Siadatan, a founding alumnus of the original River Café and St. John, Trullo blends technical skill with rustic simplicity, making it a go-to for anyone craving honest, flavourful Italian food in a relaxed setting.
