Colonel Saab will play home to an alluring holiday experience this Christmas Day, as we open for lunch from 12pm to 5pm. For the ultimate festive season, toast a magnificent end to the year with a signature blend of Indian cuisine showcased by Chef Sohan Bhandari, bringing our customers a fanciful twist on traditional merry menus. Guests can also opt for wine and champagne pairing for the ultimate celebration.

Colonel Saab is an authentic and unique, luxury Indian dining concept, in the centre of London, from award-winning entrepreneur Roop Partap Choudhary; your host, who meticulously crafted the menu and this art-festooned destination as a "love letter” to his family and India. Set in Holborn, this award-winning restaurant is only a stone's throw away from London’s famous Covent Garden, City and West End.

Guests will dine in our extraordinary setting, described as a feast for the eyes, with a treasure trove of eclectic Indian art and artefacts collected by Mr Choudhary's family on their travels. They play an indispensable part in the days proceedings by bringing the decadent surroundings to life and happily regaling guests with the rich stories and histories of the sumptuous artwork adorning the restaurant.

PRIVATE DINING

The restaurant boasts two tastefully designed private dining rooms, available for exclusive bookings providing a more intimate setting.

We welcome larger groups of people to enjoy the privacy of one of our stunning two private dining rooms this Christmas accommodating up to either 15 or 30 guests for a private sit-down Christmas lunch. 

The private dining rooms feature large windows allowing for plenty of natural daylight, perfect for lunch, otherwise amber and warm-toned lighting compliment all the beautiful artworks adorning the shelves and walls for a very special evening. The picturesque setting allows for parties to hire either one or combine both dining rooms to create a larger space. Included in your hire are the stunning large oval wooden tables for up to 15 guests each. Complimentary Wi-Fi and speakers for background music are included, and guests are welcome to bring in acoustic entertainment and a DJ upon request, creating the ideal setting for any dining or elegant celebration event.

Guests can also dine in or hire the mezzanine area, a space reminiscent of quarters from a Royal Mahal. For a combination of classic elegance with exotic art, the mezzanine is a perfect place for a private lunch within the aura of the main restaurant, which overlooks, and provides a great area for an intimate gathering of up to 30 guests. 

About the venue

Colonel Saab sits in the Grade II listed Holborn Town Hall and is housed in the old public library. The original building was constructed in 1894 in the French Renaissance style, complete with arched entrances flanked by Corinthian-style pillars and oriel windows on the first floor, and is now a listed heritage building. Today, apart from a few original features the new exotic design and decor of the restaurant complement the old building with warm colours, brass and wood features and a stunning collection of chandeliers that have been handcrafted and shipped over from India. The nearest tube is Holborn and between Soho and Covent Garden.
