What they say:

Firedog is a new Mediterranean restaurant in Fitzrovia, focussing on traditional Greek and Turkish cuisine. For the time being, the chefs are plating up a selection of breakfast, brunch and lunch dishes, as they find their feet. The venue is run by the team behind the Covent Garden coffee shop Fork & Blade, and showcases recipes that have been passed down the generations. Alongside chilli labneh and mastic plums, the menu features dishes such as smoked mackerel, served on sourdough and with sumac onions, and grilled halloumi with fennel roasted beetroot, sliced walnuts and fresh herbs.

What we say:

With one successful cafe-restaurant already under their belt, the masterminds behind Firedog promise to offer the same charming character and high standards of food. Purposely choosing to stay away from avocados and any other Mediterranean cliches, the use of fresh ingredients will undoubtedly help the venue stand out in the crowd. Though the traditional dishes are amazing, we're most excited by the restaurant's quirkier options on the menu; think crispy Sujuk sandwiches and their own take on a hearty BLT.
