What they say:

The Fourteenth Colonie has set up shop at the former site of Clerkenwell’s Giant Robot, armed with pumpkin waffles, craft beers and Brooklyn vibes aplenty. It’s a venture from Ruth & Robinson, who see this Valentine’s Day opening as the first rung on the ladder towards eight NYC-styled venues in the coming years. They’re promising Nutella French toast, healthy salads and tasty burgers eased down the hatch by craft beers, cocktails and a fine whiskey selection.

What we say:

Marrying Brooklyn broody with Clerkenwell cool, the Fourteenth Colonie is hardly a revolutionary concept but it looks set to deliver a solid all-round package. Brunch looks both indulgent and healthy, and they’re promising to select an elite batch of craft beers from both sides of the pond. There’s to be a good spread of wines, and a particular focus has been paid to curating a fine whiskey selection.
