Sosharu

Description

Continuing his reign of social dining ventures across London, the renowned restaurateur Jason Atherton has made movements to transform the Turnmill building's ground and basement floors into a wholly unique and original dining concept.

Sosharu is a fusion of traditional Japanese cuisine and British ingredients. The head chef is rumoured to have spent the passed year training and studying the culinary art of this Asian palate in Japan's very own Kyoto cooking school. A menu of shashimi, teppanyaki and robatayaki dishes are the main focus of this 75 cover dining area, whilst a separate room offers something completely different. Inspired by the dining ethic of Omakase dining, the space called Kisetsu (meaning season) echoes the traditional style of dining with a regularly changing taster menu whereby the chef will continually bring out small plated dishes like a Japanese form of tapas.

The Seven Tales basement bar is run by Geoff Robinson, who boasts experience from iconic London bars like Happiness Forgets and the Experimental Cocktail Club. Dubbed to be an urban hip hop bar you'll find design influenced by the vibrant street style and culture of Japan down here where the cocktails are mixed up with a variety of authentic Japanese spirits and liquors.
