What they say:
“The term ‘Britalian’ is a good short-hand for what we are doing” so says Isaac Mchale of Luca, the new restaurant and bar from the group behind the Clove Club. Split into distinct restaurant and bar spaces - each with an interior designed with 1950s Italy in mind - the food offering will see seasonal ingredients sourced from across the British Isles used to create Italian-inspired dishes. Expect lots of top draw pasta and a selection of smaller plates, salads and sandwiches on offer from breakfast ‘til late in the bar space.
What we say:
Far from being all about the Italian eats, Luca will also specialise in a vermouth-heavy cocktail menu as well as homemade Limoncello and Nocino; so there’s every reason to drop in for a chilled drink if you’re gasping after work. The restaurant will feature a pasta-making room - so you can track your food all the way to your plate - and the private dining Garden Room, with its retractable roof for the summertime, also looks very cool.
