Now Open

Fresh from whipping up mouth-watering dishes at Michelin-starred Tamarind, chef Peter Joseph is set to open his very own restaurant in Chelsea this September. Inspired by Peter's upbringing in Tamil Nadu, Kahani will focus on contemporary Indian cooking, with sustainable British ingredients. The space has been designed by Kai Interiors and there will be bespoke wallpapers, bold fabrics and a focus on India's national bird, the peacock. Dessert will be showcased in a special area, while stunning banquette seating will be spread throughout the 90-cover venue.

Kahani means 'story' in Hindi and the menu reflects this. Starters centre on finger food to encourage communal eating and sharing, while mains focus on classics cooked by a tandoor or robata grill. We love the sound of smoked Malabar prawns with coconut and Keralan spices and the signature Kahani butter chicken. Seasonal specials will change daily, so keep an eye out. For dessert, there's melt in the middle cheesecakes, a chilli chocolate mousse bomb and a pineapple crème brûlée; all to be washed down with inventive cocktails and a wine list made up of bottles sourced from around the world.
