What they say:
Coming home is one of the best feelings in the world, which must be why Indian restaurant Kricket have their eyes on making Brixton the site of the first permanent venue. They established themselves years ago at Pop Brixton, but have since moved from their shipping container to Soho. This year they’re making the leap down south and back home with a 40-cover venue that, this time, contains a bar.
What we say:
Their Indian-inspired menu believes in meat, vegetables, and fish. Expect to find dishes like Kashmiri lamb ribs, wild garlic raita, pomegranate vinegar and jaggery, bhel puri with raw mango, taramind, sev and yoghurt, as well as raw salmon with kasundi mustard, green pea and mustard oil, and pickled mooli. Their in-venue bar will serve up the holy trinity of drinks: wine, bottled beers, and cocktails. These mixed drinks will take influence from India too, with cocktails like Dark Matter, made from spiced rum, mango, agave, red peppercorn and chilli.
