Our private investment group has been meeting at the Slug and Lettuce for about 12 years. We have always been provided with personalised service and particular attention to detail. We have had a great experience in using the meeting room and a break for drinks and lunch in the upper restaurant area. We hope to continue to have our meetings at this Slug and Lettuce for some time to come. Colin Farrier - Investment Group visited The Slug and Lettuce County Hall on 11 Oct 2016

The table I had reserved online (which was confirmed) wasn't booked for my friends and I. Luckily a table became free quickly, which we were put on. We were given porn star martini's in wine glasses which were really warm. Between us we tried a few other cocktails which weren't much better. We didn't finish any of them. The food was awful. The pie that was served was rock hard and warm. The fries and green beans were cold. My friends burger bun was so dry it literally crumbled in her hands. At this point we just gave up and quickly left. I can safely say we will not be returning. kate_uk visited The Slug and Lettuce County Hall on 16 Sep 2016

I have been to many Slug and Lettuce across the UK and this is by far the worst one I have been too! booked a table on the 8th August for my 21st birthday for 7 o'clock! We arrived but didn't get seated until 20 minutes past 7! Ordered food at half past to find out half the food wasn't available to order! Food eventually come out just after 8 o'clock! I booked the table until half 8 due to having some where else to be and we still had not received our mains! when I asked for a refund I got told I have to wait 20 minute for my food to come! Used the toilet which was absolutely horrible covered in used toilet paper and used women's towels cover in blood! Eventfully we got a refund and had to eat elsewhere! The customer service was also very low in standard! I will not be returning Kym visited The Slug and Lettuce County Hall on 08 Aug 2016

When arriving at the Slug and Lettuce it took staff about 10 minutes to come to seat us as we had booked a table. We were then told about a third of the menu was unavailable because they didn't have the items in stock. When the mains arrived 2 out of 5 people didn't finish their meal because the salmon was burnt. We then had pudding and the cookie cup was a complete disappointment and also tasted burnt. It was awful. 2 of us had the cookie cup and we didn't even have a 1/4 of it, it was that bad. katiewoolf visited The Slug and Lettuce County Hall on 05 Aug 2016

Booked for afternoon drinks only. Given a great table for a large party. Bottles of wine/ prosecco reasonably priced for central London location. Staff very helpful, friendly and attentive. I would recommend for drinks. Lynn visited The Slug and Lettuce County Hall on 30 Jul 2016

Had a booking at County Hall, London on Monday evening placed our order got starters excellent, then our main course of open chicken pie with mash when it arrived it had these well cooked hard chips, nobody ever came to ask our meal was we ate the pie and asked for bill and complained, they said that we should have been told there was no mash the manager removed the main meals from our bill. I thought ok genuine mistake. But on the next night we went to the slug & Lettuce in Leicester Sq. it can,t be bad 2 nights but we wrong. The bar had just reopened after a private function we were only ones having food at this time. We ordered shepherds pie when it arrived we cut into the cheese topping piping hot but below the filling and jug of gravy we stone cold. They took it away reheated and manager took 25% of the bill. Its not the money off but standards of service from the same company on nights running leaves you wondering if you should give another chance. chasval visited The Slug and Lettuce County Hall on 25 Jul 2016

So disappointing. Having been to the County Hall Slug & Lettuce on many occasions & having a great time with great food & great staff, our visit on Monday 20th June was abysmal! I booked an area for 10 people for between 10.30am & 11am well in advance. All of us were patients at St Thomas's hospital. 8 of us made it to the early lunch that was arranged before our final pain management session at 1pm that day. I was the only one who ordered brunch. The cut off period to order it was 11.30am. I ordered at 11.10am after waiting 40 minutes for our group to be served & then I waited until 12.25pm for my food to arrive. All of our food came out in dribs & drabs with one poor, heavily pregnant member of our party being told at 12.20pm that there would be a further 40 minute wait after the wrong food was brought out to her. The staff all knew that we had to leave at 12.45pm but didn't care. They just repeatedly said they couldn't guarantee any of us would get food. Getting drinks was just as difficult. Considering our booking was for 10.30am & 3 of our party still hadn't received their food at 12.3pm, this demonstrates how awful the service was. Our reserved area was away from the bar area, down a few steps, in a corner. We watched as numerous people came in, we're served & ate before us. If they can't handle group bookings or get orders out in under 2 hours, they shouldn't take reservations. We will not be returning! Sarah visited The Slug and Lettuce County Hall on 20 Jun 2016

So central and easy to find. The Food was delicious and The bar staff were fabulous although two bar staff on a Saturday night and most people ordering the cocktails meant we waited up to fifteen minutes to be served. Otherwise a great venue for a relaxed evening.

This is my second time arranging a social event at Slug and once again I was disappointed by the poor customer service. Despite arriving half an hour early, our reserved area was not ready for the booking time of 6. 30 pm therefore we waited an additional 15 minutes for our area to be set up. The manager did not greet us and decided to open our area to the public after 30 minutes . I approached the manager and asked why she decided to open the area despite the fact that I was missing a few guests (some running late). The manager informed me that since I was missing a few guests then she can open up the area to the public as I did not put down a deposit. I was not informed of this clause in the confirmation email and I have never experience anything like this. It became clear that very basic customer service skills was missing as the manager did not use her initiative to approach me and my guests to ask if we are still expecting guests to arrive (or asking permission to open the reserved area). Once I highlighted this to the manager she apologised. Its a shame that the customer service is poor as the 2 for 1 cocktails was the only saving grace for the evening. I appreciated when they considered to move my booking when I said I was running late. Waiters were good. Just one thing, to turn down the music a bit. It was too loud. Otherwise, cocktails wete good! Letty visited The Slug and Lettuce County Hall on 06 May 2016

I booked a table on here, and then on the day went to slug early to make sure they were still serving food at the time it was booked at as I forgot to check and I was in the area anyways. When I got there the guy guaranteed that they would be serving food until 10 but would be taking orders until 9:45. When we got there for a table booked for 9 o'clock it was just past nine however no one was there to show us to a table and there was a sign up saying that the kitchen was closed for tonight. Luckily when my friends went to talk to someone by the bar they said to sit anywhere and we'll can take your order. As no one came to take our order (or notice that the table was sticky) I ordered at the bar where they are lots of faff about if I was able to order food or not, finally they let me order. When my friend went up to the bar to get some drinks as there were 241 she ordered six for three of us (two each, rather then getting 4 and having to share the 4th?!). The girl at the bar told her she was not able to make that many drinks so close to the 241 ending and it wasn't fair on other people (I'm still not sure how as it was a pretty empty bar). Luckily the other guy serving the bar said he would do it. When we finally got our food, even though most of it was lovely on the sharing plate, the chips were stone cold. We would of complained on the night however we all felt like no one would actually listen. This was one of my favourite S+L but slowly becoming my least. Especially as they keep on running out of mint (And that's rather important for a mojito). Sarah visited The Slug and Lettuce County Hall on 23 Apr 2016

Truly the worst S&L, food was cold, missing, seats were badly worn, abusive clientele who were ignored by the staff. I was embarrassed to take my friends there last weekend. neillwebb visited The Slug and Lettuce County Hall on 23 Apr 2016

I like how spacious this bar is, even despite it being busy all the time you will not have a problem grabbing a table. Apart from that - nothing special really!

Terrible service. Had booked the downstairs room for an event. Got there and they had no knowledge of it. This was despite getting the reminder email the day before and the 'how was it email' the day after. What made it worse was how loss they where to try and fix the problem. In fact they didn't really do anything. In the end I had my guests cleaning and setting the space up for me while I tried to get refreshments sorted out. Very disappointing.

Good chain - standard Slug and Lettuce really. Would pop in if it was on my way somewhere, but wouldn't actively choose to go to Slug and Lettuce. Enjoyed my food and drink though.

surprised to come across this place, was pretty tucked away but i;d definitely recommend it for pre-drinks considering they're so so cheap. and so close to go further into london

Slug and Lettuce never disappoint and their County Hall venue definitely furthers their already impressive reputation. Great drinks, great food in an always friendly and hospitable atmosphere, you can't go wrong by visiting.
