Cinco de Mayo
On Thursday 5th May, from 6pm, we're going all out celebrating some of our favourite Mexican beers, spirits, cocktails, food, and music.
Cinco De Mayo, a date that celebrates the Mexican victory over France at the Battle of Puebla, is a day in which Mexicans around the world can honour those who lost their lives in the battle, as well as celebrate their freedom. In respect of this history, we will be showcasing the best of our Mexican food and drink with a fantastic garden fiesta - right in the heart of Arnos Grove!
But that's not all…

Drink
It’s not often that we get the opportunity to shout about some of our favourite Mexican products, and Cinco de Mayo has given us the perfect excuse! We can’t wait to introduce you to a great selection of our popular and lesser-known beers, spirits, and food.
First up is an awesome range of Mexican Craft, authentically produced and imported small batch from the country itself.
Loba Brewery, a small brewery with humble beginnings, worked their way up from just four six hundred litre fermenters and a macerator of the same capacity, to one of the best craft beer plants in Mexico, Loba Brewery was finally built at it's current location in central Guadalajara in 2016. Since then it's beers have won countless awards around the world, and in 2019 it won 'North American Brewery of The Year' at The International Beer Awards in London.

Propaganda Brewing, born in the foothills of the Sierre Madre Mountains, on the outskirts of Monterrey, a city in the north east of Mexico and started by Jose Luis Calderoni in 2012, whose beers have won several gold and silver medals at The Mexican Beer Cup awards.
Cerveza Fortuna, built in 2010 and situated between Guadalajara and the town of Tequila. Winning Best Brewery in Mexico in 2019, they have one of the most beautiful breweries in the country, surrounded by a huge garden of paths lined with aromatic herbs like rosemary and mint. They produce beers inspired by Mexican cuisine and heritage, using ingredients like agave and Tajin to produce their award winning beers.
Larger, and more popular brews also line our shelves, like Cerveza Pacífico Clara. Better known as Pacífico, this pilsner-style beer, first brewed in 1900 by three German amigos, was named after the brewery’s home on the Pacific Ocean port city of Mazatlán.
This golden lager has a light, crisp and refreshing flavour, making it the perfect beer to enjoy in the sunshine! The brand first blew up globally after Californian surfers discovered the beer when visiting the Baja Peninsula and exported it back to the USA… and now it sits proudly amongst our varied beer selection.
Another proud Mexican beer that occupies our bar is the highly recognisable Corona Extra. The most popular Mexican beer worldwide, Corona Extra has been complementing life’s simple moments since 1925. This golden liquid was brewed 100% in Mexico up until 2019, infusing it with flavours of the Sun.
We have been serving Corona on draught since 2020, and you have all made it very clear how much you love this Mexico City favourite 🍻
Last, but most definitely not least is Cazcabel Tequila, named after the ‘medicine man’, Don Cazcabel. Famous for his natural tonics, Don Cazcabel was a healer with powers that attracted Mexicans from hundreds of miles around.
Today, Cazcabel Tequila is created in an independent micro distillery in the town of Arandas, located in the highlands of the Jalisco Mountains in Mexico.
Using only locally sourced, blue weber agave in their tequila - which grows for around 7 years before harvesting - Cazcabel has mastered a beautifully clean tequila, honouring the Don’s original recipes, and using only the best, natural ingredients that the fertile land can offer. Cazcabel now comes in a wide variety of ranges, such as Tequila Blanco, Coffee, Honey, Coconut, and Reposado.
So now you’ve found out about our exciting plans, come and see how it measures up on Cinco de Mayo, Thursday 5th May! It’s definitely going to be a fiesta you won’t forget.
