Hard work reserving a table, could never get through by phone. Table was wobbly and one chair covered in old drink stains. Nacho's were lovely but fish and chips horrible - fish very overcooked. We like this place but it could do with a good clean and refurbishment. Also people from a number of tables spent most of their night getting up to close the doors as the breeze was awful. Suggest one set of doors be permanently closed off to minimise the effect. visited Slug and Lettuce Borough on 20 Dec 2016

Everything was great - but the Nachos were very poor and not worth anything like almost £9 a plate for what was little more than cheap tortilla chips visited Slug and Lettuce Borough on 21 Dec 2016

32 members of my work staff booked for a Christmas buffet. The food was poor and very tight with portion size per person. Only 3 members of staff behind the bar at London Bridge with out party and two other parties going on with normal people in off the street. 20- 30 mins wait for a drink was a joke. visited Slug and Lettuce Borough on 16 Dec 2016

the manager was awful we got there on time... the table was not set up other people were using the tables. She just moved the ketchup from the tables and didn't even clean the tables. Then 40mins later we got our drinks- and the young girl serving us was very helpful. My manager was so disgusted from how unorganised the evening was at Slug & Lettuce he left after 1 hour. We paid for everything before hand which included table balloons and that was four packages. When I asked the manager about this she was plain rude and said she was not aware. I enquired about the packages again but she didn't know anything of it so we couldn't have them given to us. the upsetting thing is- I came in prior to the event in the afternoon to check that everything was in order - the manager said she had everything sorted and would be ready prompt at 18:30. I feel bad writing this awful review but it ruined 25 people's night as everyone still remembers the begin of the night as it was very unorganised. The drinks and food was great but just the rudeness from the manager was unneeded. The least the manager can do for me and my team is compensate us for the evening. We arrived to find our table for ten with only four chairs. We were then told the 2-4-1 offer wouldn't be available despite it being part of the booking we put a £100 deposit down for. When we made a large group order (after a 25 minute wait at the bar) the bar staff first took our drinks to the wrong table then we found there were drinks missing which we had been charged for. Safe to say not one of us will be going to a Slug and Lettuce any time soon if we can help it. visited Slug and Lettuce Borough on 16 Dec 2016

I was absolutely disgusted on how we were treated on Wednesday, bearing in mind I made the booking 2 months ago. When I made the booking, I was advised that we would have the table all afternoon and subsequently received a mail from you on Monday advising that our booking was from 13:15 until 23:00. Our starters were served at 13:40 and our main meal and dessert were all served in quick succession of one another by 14:30. Our server was even cleaning away plates from our table when other people were still eating which was totally unacceptable. When our dessert was served, I was advised that we had 30 minutes to eat our dessert, drink our drinks and leave the restaurant as it was booked out to another party from 15:00. At no point in advance was I notified that we was going to have to leave the restaurant by 15:00. After stating that I was not happy with this, I was asked to speak to 4 separate members of staff to address my concerns and no one wanted to take responsibility and they all said that it was 'nothing to do with them'. I must admit that I was surprised when I delivered our menu choices 2 weeks ago that I was asked to pay for the whole meal in advance which I find very unusual. I have been booking Christmas work meals for the last 20 years and I have never been asked to pay for the whole food bill in advance. If I was notified prior to Wednesday that we would have to leave the restaurant by 15:00, then I would have cancelled the booking and taken our custom elsewhere, however, we was never given that choice. All in all, a disastrous meal as we had planned to stay in the restaurant until closing time especially as we had arranged for many colleagues to join us throughout the evening. Our party was not made to feel welcome at all and we felt that we was a hindrance and the staff just wanted to get rid of us. I especially feel very responsible for ruining everybody's Christmas meal as I was the person that organised it. I look forward to await your response. visited Slug and Lettuce Borough on 14 Dec 2016

We had an early meal. On the positive side we all ate a different main course and each of us found the food delicious. Well done the Chef! On the negative side we found the service slow, so that we needed to call for attention to order and for anything else subsequently. After we finished our main course the table was not cleared at all and no one came to ask if we wanted dessert or coffe or indeed more to drink. No one came near us and so we consumed nothing else and had to ask for our bill as well. visited Slug and Lettuce Borough on 13 Dec 2016

We have enjoyed many a meal here before but unfortunately we were disappointed on this occasion. We didn't mind 3 tables being used to accomodate 9 of us but the seating was on a curve so we were unable to push the tables together which made conversation between us difficult. Then one member had to wait so long for her meal the others had almost finished theirs plus one order was devoid of chips and we had to wait quite a while for those. We all felt the quality of the food was below standard, eg hard vegetables, dry chicken. Then we ordered 3 desserts which were ages coming although we were told that there was a problem with the cooker but the desserts we had ordered didn't require cooking! We were then asked to move tables even though we had booked it from 1-5pm as after lunch we like to stay on for a drink and chat. Your booking form gives a time choice so maybe it should be made clear on there that you can only have the table for 3 hrs after which you may be moved. To accomodate our move another group of customers had to be moved ! As we had waited so long for the desserts we had already paid the bill so when we were asked to pay for the desserts we did put in our complaint to the waitress who said the manager would give 10% discount ( approx.£1.20). It would have been nice if the manager had come to talk to us himself. So, unfortunately, we are in the process of looking for somewhere else to meet up for lunch, in the Borough, in the New Year. We appreciate how busy and demanding this time of year can be but when standards drop in such a big way as this has, you must understand why we, the customer, are abandoning the Slug. Sorry. visited Slug and Lettuce Borough on 09 Dec 2016

We are regulars at the Borough High Street Slug and Lettuce and over the last 6 months the service has deteriorated considerably. Staff are not interested in serving customers and have to be waved down to get orders taken or to request the bill. At one point we were waiting to order, and there were 3 staff at the bar having a chat and one man doing all the serving / ordering. Not great! visited Slug and Lettuce Borough on 30 Nov 2016

Such slow service... we had to ask them to take our food order,, staff weren't very helpful and you had to ask them to do things that they should do normally e.g. Chase up missing items of food, get sauces. Steak tasted really charred. Very disappointing experience and would not go back. Cocktails were underwhelming no fruit etc visited Slug and Lettuce Borough on 07 Nov 2016

We were having a fantastic evening until one of our parties handbag was stollen. Jolene (member of the bar staff) was brilliant and so helpful. She helped call the police and looked after our friend, who was quite upset. It might be an idea to close the fire exit door, as it's such an easy access for scumbags to get in and out quickly. visited Slug and Lettuce Borough on 20 Oct 2016

So.....I booked a table here to watch the England VS Wales game - by the time we arrived the draft beer was down and only bottled beer was available, by half time most of the bottled beer was gone or warm. We decided to run to another pub, get beer on tap and watch the rest of the game. Also the sound quality watching the football was useless - Advice? Don't go and watch football here!

Our food wasn't exactly as we ordered. One dish came minus the green beans and peppers. However, when pointed out, it was sorted. Good value for money all in all. SallyM visited Slug and Lettuce Borough on 06 Jun 2016

Good chain - standard Slug and Lettuce really. Would pop in if it was on my way somewhere, but wouldn't actively choose to go to Slug and Lettuce. Enjoyed my food and drink though.

Good for a cheap and cheerful night out. Compared to other Slug and Lettuce's Ive been to, this one stands out as being better for service. On promotional nights it can get busy and there can be a wait for tables but they usually become free pretty quickly and the offers are worth the wait.

The Slug and Lettuce is always a good choice and their Borough venue continues this. Some incredible drink deals are on offer with some truly amazing food to accompany it.
