Dana Immanuel & The Stolen Band

Dana Immanuel and the Stolen Band are a banjo-whacking, guitar-shredding, fiddle-sawing, foot-stomping, whiskey-soaked, all-female assault on the senses. Since 2014, this London-based ladyband have been delighting diverse crowds spanning the blues, rock, Americana, indie, folk and country scenes with their high-energy live show and utterly unique brand of musical badassery.

Having collectively found their purpose, Dana and the Stolen Band flung themselves into life on the road, touring extensively across the UK and Europe. Playing venues from the Barfly to Union Chapel, and a myriad festivals including Glastonbury, Boomtown and Country 2 Country, the five-piece powerhouse that is the Stolen Band take pride in their mission to astound audiences, confound stereotypes and transcend genre labels wherever they go, and never, ever, fail to get the party started.

The Dog Roses

One of What's Cookin's favourite live bands, these suited'n'booted men in black are a stunning roots, Americana, country rock'n'roll band. A six piece based around drums, bass, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, accordion, scorching fiddle and mandolin, they do for country and bluegrass what the Pogues did for Irish music injecting it with a huge dose of rock'n'roll.

Serious Sam Barrett

Serious Sam Barrett is a roots/folk/country musician from Leeds. Sam plays a mixture of traditional and original material but his recorded output has mainly focused on his own compositions especially in his later works. His style builds on folk music from the British Isles, Ireland, traditional American music as well as more contemporary styles of Rock n Roll and 50s pop music. Sam mainly plays the 12-string guitar although he has been known to do a few tunes on his banjo. His brilliant new album is 'Where The White Roses Grow'.  www.facebook.com/Serious-Sam-BarrettYaDig-Records-185802254796469

"The sustained brilliance of his playing is something to behold"  BOB HARRIS
"splendid folk blues from the West Yorkshire hills"  GIDEON COE
"Songs that rattle with the ghosts of Appalachian folk, and southern blues, yet sound emphatically English"  UNCUT MAGAZINE
"Old before his years country-folk fellow who mixes intricate John Fahey fingerpicking with confessional tales of dirty old Leeds" THE GUARDIAN

Ed Hopwood

Ed Hopwood is a one-man band. He brings together multi-instrumental skills to forge a sound that’s grounded in roots music with a style all of his own; taking elements of Blues, Zydeco, Old-Time & Bluegrass and weaving them into a highly original live show sometimes playing five instruments at once.
