London Cocktail Week is around the corner and our master wizard, Tom Blundell, has once again made some magic happen behind the bar. We introduce to you - THE BARRON - a COLD BREW, BULLEIT BOURBON concoction that'll have your taste buds tickling with flavour.
The Barron is, as the man it was named after, a powerful experience with a caffeine-bursting base of Gentlemen Baristas cold brew set with flavours of Bulleit Bourbon. The coffee beans have been roasted in matured roasting barrels, which has given the brew its special zing. To complete the tipple, Tom has added a drizzle of Manuka honey, cob nuts and crushed ice. To be drunk in style, in a traditional Bulleit Bourbon metallic julep cup. Summer ain't over yet, enjoy The Barron in Cosy Kettle, our speakeasy basement cocktail bar.
We’ve dug into the history archives for this one. The Barron was created in honour of Charles Cox, the first-ever Barron of Somers Town (1725 – 1716). We’ve got Cox to thank for the name of our, he was the instigator for trade in this area and one of the leading figures in the introduction of the Grand Union Canal network to King’s Cross & Somers Town. Cox had the coffee shipped down the canal and Somers Town was used as a trading shop.
