Event: Drop In Sessions exploring Irish Women and Power

Where: Rosemary Branch Theatre, 2 Shepperton Rd, London N1 3DT

When: 27th January 11-3pm and 28th January 11-1pm

Fancy tea, cake and a chat about power? Join theatremakers Amy Fleming and Roann Hassani McCloskey as they host drop in sessions at the Rosemary Branch Theatre, creating a space to gather thoughts and exchange stories about the dynamic relationship between Irish women and power.

Throughout Ireland’s history, Irish women have often held and lost power in domestic and public life. As part of research for a new theatre piece, Roann and Amy would like to warmly invite women with Irish connections—whether born, raised, emigrated from or spent summers in Ireland, or even with an Irish cousin twice removed — to join in the conversation and share your experiences of holding, losing, or encountering power in different phases of your life. There’ll be lots of paper for those who prefer reflection through writing or drawing and lots of questions will be dotted about to inspire and evoke your memories.

These sessions will be followed by a talk on the theatre piece on the 1st February at 6.30pm at the Rosemary Branch Theatre which will be followed by the highly anticipated second annual ‘Come Hear ‘Til I tell Ya' storytelling night which is an evening of tall tales, poetry and revelry celebrating the celebrating the unbeatable spirit of powerful Irish women. Last year's event sold out so grab your tickets for that as soon as you can.
