Description
A quaint pub with a lovely terrace, perfect for a lunchtime pint or after works drinks.
The history behind the name...
Thomas Cubbitt, the architect behind Woburn Walk, notes the tameness of the hares he spotted on his early morning constitutional. When Woburn Walk opened with its newly laid paving stones, the area become a magnet for the local hares. They could often be seen at night resting peacefully along the walk.
By the start of the 1930's, the hares had disappeared into history as a result of the development of Euston Road which lead to an increase in traffic, making it too difficult for safe crossings.
