As The 89th Academy Awards approach this month, we're paying homage to all the great films that really should have won an Oscar!
The movie: Ron Burgundy is San Diego's top-rated newsman in the male-dominated broadcasting of the 1970s, but that's all about to change for Ron and his cronies when an ambitious woman is hired as a new anchor.
Was it even nominated: Nope, but it WAS nominated in the AARP Movies for Grownups Awards, for Best Movie for Grownups Who Refuse to Grow Up. Which is just as good, right?
What it should’ve won: Ferrell’s moving portrayal as a man coming to terms with the world changing around him and the loss of his best friend should’ve garnered a best actor nomination at the very least, we’d have also given it the award for best costume design for those smooth suits.
