There are few artists more influential in UK blues than Ian Siegal. In fact, he is widely considered to be the greatest British bluesman since the sixties. The Blues Kitchen is thrilled to be presenting a stop on his 2018 UK tour as Siegal tours his latest album, his first studio recording of new material in six years. It is a perfect example of the style that has come to characterise his music: full of the dark and light, clever wordplay and rough-hewn voice box for which he has become known.
His musical career has taken him on a journey spanning more than 45 countries and reaped an extensive trophy haul including 11 British Blues awards. If ever there was a time to catch a man who has variously been dubbed ‘a national treasure’ and ‘the cleverest writer and most magnetic blues performer in the UK’, it is now.
