What Is The Red Bull Soap Box Race?
The Red Bull Soapbox race is a global competition where teams of four design and build homemade, non-motorised vehicles to race downhill using only gravity, a bit of steering, and a lot of confidence.
Vehicles are judged on three things: speed, creativity, and showmanship. So yes, you could technically win without being the fastest, your car just needs to make enough people laugh or gasp.
Since its launch, the Red Bull Soapbox Race has become a cult favourite event, and London consistently delivers some of its wildest entries. Past editions have given us a Harry Potter knight bus, a Simpsons sofa, Mario Kart karts, and a fully functional bathtub on wheels. Yes, an actual bathtub. We're expecting the same level of chaos and creativity this year - possibly more.
Where Can I Watch The Red Bull Soapbox Race?
Good news: you don’t need to be a racer to experience the chaos. You can watch from designated viewing areas along the course, where thousands of fans are expected to line the track, cheering (and wincing) for each contestant.
