We all know and love Pizza Pilgrims for its delicious Neapolitan pizzas, which have been a favourite in the capital since they opened their first site in 2013. But what if you could tuck into their tasty slices, while also appreciating the flavours of other popular London restaurants?
This April, for a limited time only, they've teamed up with Dishoom, Honest Burgers, Pho and Sweet Dee’s Jerk to launch ’The Great British Crust Comeback’ - a menu of crust dippers designed by each of the brands. It's estimated by Pizza Pilgrims that 47 tonnes of crusts are wasted each year, so this is their method of tackling the problem head-on. When 25% of us reportedly can't eat crusts without a dip, it sounds like a pretty reasonable solution. And so, we recently visited their Soho venue to try the special Double Dip menu for ourselves.

Pizza Pilgrims is on a mission to get the nation eating its crusts.
Our Review Of Pizza Pilgrims' Limited-Edition Double Dip Menu
While I love dips, we obviously began by ordering some more solid food to go with them. The 8 cheese (£13.75) is a firm favourite on their menu, and it lived up to its reputation, featuring multiple types of mozzarella, ricotta, gorgonzola and hard cheeses, with an oozing ball of burrata perched on top - finished with a smoked chilli jam that added a nice sweetness to the overall flavour. For a more classic pick with a rich tomato base, the aubergine parmigiana (£13.95) was made up of baked aubergine parmigiana slices, fior di latte mozzarella and basil. Both pizzas also boasted freshly made Neapolitan dough, with gorgeously fluffy crusts - perfect for dipping.
On the side, we also enjoyed their artichokes fritti (£8), earthy, herbaceous bites which were fried in a crispy panko crust, served with a garlic and herb dip. The cacio e pepe balls (£8) were pure indulgence, a firm breadcrumb exterior filled with spaghetti that was coated in pecorino and black pepper.

Each dip was created with another popular restaurant group.
But the real question is, what did we think of the dips?
This limited-edition menu costs £2 per dip, or £6 for all four.
- Dishoom - the star of the show in my eyes, this mouthwatering chilli chutney combined their house mayo with a medium-spice chilli and garlic mix, as well as a slight citrus taste. It was smooth, punchy and worked well with everything we ordered.
- Honest Burgers - if you've every been to this popular burger restaurant, you'll know that their chips have a uniquely delicious taste. This dip captured that flavour perfectly, featuring fresh rosemary, crushed olive oil crisps and salt, and if i closed my eyes I would have believed I was eating the chips themselves.
- Pho - a peanut-based sauce, this one was rich, nutty and smooth. It had a deeply savoury flavour, featuring a kick of chilli and garlic. While I wasn't quite as keen on this one, I'm not a huge peanut butter fan, so if you love that flavour then you'll definitley want to order this one.
- Sweet Dee’s Jerk - a tasty twist on BBQ sauce, this smoky dip used Sweet Dee's signature blend of jerk spices to create a deliciously fiery flavour, though it was also pleasantly sweet.
Overall, I can see these unique dips helping to tackle Britain's 'crust issues', and I would definitely recommend trying them while they're still available this April. We didn't leave a single crust behind. Additionally, Pizza Pilgrims always donates to Make-A-Wish for every dip sold, and they're doubling these donations for the month, so you'll be doing some good as well.
