The World's First Octopus Kebab At Pescobar.

The world's first octopus kebab can be found in Camden.

Camden's known for being weird and wonderful. With world-famous fashion shops like Cyberdog, a house covered in egg cups and bonkers street art spanning the entire way down the high street, you won't find another place quite like this North London borough.

But did you know there's something even more unique hidden away in Camden Market? Hold onto your tentacles, here's everything you need to know about Pescobar - the world's first octopus kebab.

Pescobar: Home To The World's First Octopus Kebab

Opened by Paul Nicolau, Pescobar started off as a small seafood stall in Romania. As demand grew, he began opening seafood markets across the country before opening his first restaurant in Bucharest. In March 2025, Nicolau opened his first seafood restaurant in Camden Market which has taken the internet by storm.

The seafood bar introduced the world's first octopus 'kebap' earlier this year, which is served with an array of tender seasfood, bold spices, and smoky char. If that doesn't tickle your tentacles then they've got plenty more on the menu, including:

  • Octodog - a seafood twist on the classic hotdog
  • Crunchy popcorn prawns - bite-sized nibbles served with steamed rice and their signature yum yum sauce
  • Shrimply irresistable - crunchy prawns with seasoned fries and aioli
  • The Pescobar platter - a variety of delicious seafood
  • Lobster rolls - buttered brioche rolls with lobster meat and lemon
  • Bao buns - either stuffed with octopus or prawns
