The LSX Project Plans To Turn Leicester Square Into A 10-Storey Entertainment Hub

New plans for Leicester Square could bring more excitement to the buzzing tourist hub.

Central London has always known how to put on a show, from the buzzing excitement of Piccadilly Circus to red-carpet film premieres, and packed restaurants. Now, Leicester Square could be preparing for its next big transformation, making it louder, brighter, and even harder to ignore.

New plans for the iconic square would introduce a massive 10-storey entertainment complex, complete with giant Piccadilly Circus-style LED screens, a rooftop restaurant, and enough space to welcome hundreds of visitors at a time.

What’s Being Planned For Leicester Square's New Entertainment Hub?

Property developer Soho Estates revealed their plans for a 10-storey entertainment hub called LSX, which would take over eight existing buildings around the square, including the current Burger King site on Bear Street.

The giant screens are getting a lot of attention, but the developers have a vision to create an immersive space that would transform the area by “unlocking its full potential and establishing it as a destination that plays an active role in the life of the Square.”

And don’t worry, according to Soho Estates, the brightness, operating hours, and content of the displays would be tightly controlled with Westminster City Council.

What Would The New Leicester Square Complex Include?

Plans for the LSX building also include:

  • A rooftop restaurant overlooking Central London

  • A new ground-floor food hall

  • Fresh retail fronts on Bear Street and Cranbourn Street

  • Entertainment and cultural spaces

  • Capacity for up to 600 people at once

The project is being pitched as a major new visitor attraction for one of London’s busiest tourist hubs.

When Could The Leicester Square Redevelopment Happen?

A full planning application is expected to be lodged with Westminster Council in summer 2026, following a series of public consultation events this spring.

If approved, the development would become one of the most dramatic visual transformations London has seen in recent years, so make sure to check back here for updates.
