Fortnum & Mason Is Launching Luxury Boat Picnics On The Thames This Summer

Champagne in a Fortnum & Mason bucket on a boat.

These luxury picnic cruises start at £1,000.

From open-air cinemasfree lidos, and food festivals, after a long winter, London really comes alive in the warmer months. But of all the summer moments, nothing quite beats a proper picnic spread in the sun, and Fortnum & Mason giving that tradition a luxury upgrade.

This summer, the department store is taking its straw baskets to the water with the launch of Fortnum's on Thames, a private boating experience with beautiful views, and of course, caviar and champagne.

What Is The Fortnum & Mason Picnic Boat?

Fortnum's on Thames is a luxury picnic experience running in celebration of the Henley Royal Regatta, where you can step aboard a lovely vintage river boat for a private, two-hour ride. The boat is decorated in Fortnum & Mason's signature colour palette, and even comes with red-coated servers onboard to tend to your every need.

What's The Fortnum & Mason Picnic Boat's Address?

You can board at Hobbs of Henley, Remenham Park Farm, RG9 3DB, near the start line of the Henley Royal Regatta.

How Much Does The Fortnum & Mason Picnic Boat Cost?

This isn’t your average picnic, so don’t expect an average price tag. Prices start from £1,000 per charter for four guests.

The experience can also cater to parties of six or eight people, with food and drinks included. If you really want to make the most of your day on the water, champagne and English sparkling wine upgrades are available.

What Is Served On The Fortnum & Mason Picnic Boat?

This floating feast offers a full spread, with plenty of classic Fortnum favourites:

  • Starters, mains, desserts, cheese and drinks

  • Scotch eggs
  • Smoked trout with black garlic crème fraîche
  • Elderflower jelly with fresh berries

To top it off, you even get to take the picnic bag home as a keepsake after the cruise.

How Do I Book The Fortnum & Mason Picnic Boat?

You can make a booking directly here.

The experience runs from 1st – 12th July, with sailings available daily between 11.30am and 1.30pm, and again from 3pm until 5pm.
