Cake Picnic is the city's sweetest event.
Some events can just sell themselves in a single sentence. Cake Picnic is one of them: a gathering where every single attendee brings an entire homemade cake, sets it down on a communal table, and proceeds to eat cake surrounded by hundreds of other cakes and the people who made them. If you're a dessert lover, it really is as good as it sounds.
This summer's London edition is themed around Strawberry Shortcake, so whether you go classic, creative, or whimsical, all cakes are welcome as long as strawberries are involved.

What Is Cake Picnic?
Cake Picnic is a travelling celebration of cake in all its forms. The event has popped up in cities around the world, bringing communities together for one simple, joyful purpose. Every attendee brings a homemade cake to share with 500 other bakers. It's a buffet that really has to be seen to be believed, and you can enjoy as many slices as your heart desires. The most important rule of the day (other than arriving hungry) is no cake, no entry. Every single attendee needs their own ticket and their own cake to enter.
What's Cake Picnic's Programme?
- Morning session: 10am – 12pm
- Afternoon session: 2pm – 4pm
- Berry Beginners (new): A kids' cake decorating workshop (ages 3–10) with cake artist Ashley Holt, running at 9am or 1pm ahead of each main session. Children decorate a cake that then joins the Cake Picnic table. Tickets are limited and first-come, first-served.
How Do I get Tickets To Cake Picnic?
Tickets to Cake Picnic are $50USD (approximately £37) each and are non-refundable and non-transferable. Remember: you must bring your own cake to enter. You can buy tickets through Cake Picnic's website.
