WITH HEADLINER JOHN KEARNS

John Kearns is the only comedian to have won both the Edinburgh Comedy Awards for Best Show (Shtick) and Best Newcomer (Sight Gags for Perverts) in the awards history.

"Richly, idiosyncratic comedy" - The Guardian

'Roaringly funny' ★★★★- Scotsman

John’s last show Double Take and Fade Away was hailed by critics as his finest yet, making numerous ‘best of the year’ lists including the Evening Standard and The List. The show had a sold-out Edinburgh run, two weeks at London’s Soho Theatre, a UK tour and was released as a vinyl.

As seen on Taskmaster (C4), co-hosting Guessable (Comedy Central), 8 Out of 10 Cats does Countdown (C4), playing the lead role in cult hit Top Coppers (BBC3) and Harry Hill’s Stars In Their Eyes (ITV).

John hasn’t appeared at the Comedy Store since a Jim Jefferies gong show in 2009.

MC THANYIA MOORE!

AND support acts ricky balshaw and freya mallard, winners of the live or die 2nd edition

RICKY BALSHAW

He is also a BBC New Comedy Award finalist who has appeared on BBC One and BBC Three. He has performed at clubs such as Hot Water Comedy Club and clubs across the Midlands. Ricky has also been a pundit for Channel 4 for the Paralympics from London, Rio and Tokyo.

FREYA MALLARD

Freya Mallard is an exciting, up and coming voice in standup comedy. She is erratically anxious and unadvisedly optimistic. Her silly, fun and slightly absurd take on life make her a delight to watch!

More on our RISING STARS...
Adam Flood

WINNER: Bath Festival New Comedian of the Year, 2022.

NOMINATED: BBC New Comedy Award

Adam Flood does NOT play by the rules, if the rules we are measuring him are those of the 400 metre relay. When considering the Stoke-on Trent lad's work within the rules of stand-up comedy, then yes he very much does go by them.

Abby Wambaugh

FINALIST: Funny Women Awards, 2021

Abby Wambaugh is an American comedian living in Copenhagen with her partner and two kids and big dog named Bobby.

Bronwyn Sweeney

A self-proclaimed fake American, Bronwyn works in advertising by day and draws on her experiences of making ads that no one wants to watch to inspire her comedy. She was the Funny Women Runner-Up in 2021 and is a regular on the London circuit where she can be found biting the hand that feeds her.

Philipp Kostelecky

WINNER: King Gong at the Comedy Store

WINNER: The Little Smash New Comedian of the Year

Philipp is a loveable and charismatic comedian whose comedy bounces from stupidly silly to delectably dark, all with slick delivery and huge laughs. His child-like energy, confident stage presence and quick fire writing style make him one of the most exciting new comedians on the circuit. Philipp is a regular on the club and comedy scene supporting Russell Kane on Tour and was selected for the prestigious AAA Comedy Showcase for the 2022 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. A truly original and unique voice that’s honing his craft more and more each day.

Sapphire McIntosh

FEATURED: “Best in Class” showcase Edinburgh Fringe Festival, 2022

WINNER: Victoria Cup, 2022

3RD PLACE: Max Turner Award, 2022

SEMI-FINALIST: BBC Caroline Aherne Bursary 2018, awarded to new and upcoming comedy talent.

Born and raised in Leeds, Sapphire is a football playing, vox-popping, observational, high energy comedian, actor and writer.

★★★★ - Scene Alba
