Celebrating the traditional Mexican holiday which remembers those who have come before us, Soho's famed El Camion has teamed up with Olmeca Altos to deliver something unusual - a vegetarian paired menu themed around nunca muere - never die. After being greeted with a welcome drinks designed to stimulate your taste buds, the sustainable dinner will feature five dishes including a scrumptious dessert, all matched with stunning tequila cocktails designed to cut through the food and enhance the flavours of both the drinks and the meal.
Brand Ambassador and tequila expert Megs Miller will be guiding you through the tasting. Afterwards El Camion's member's bar Pink Chihuahua will be throwing open its door to pay homage to the dead where you can dance the night away in true Mexican style.
Dia de los Muertos Menu
Welcome drink:
Marigold Margarita with Altos reposado tequila, fresh lemon juice, agave and cayenne sea salt.
Pairing #1:
Negra Modelo tempura greens with black bean mole on soft corn tortillas with a hint of jalapeño. Paired with a Roasted Piña cocktail made from Altos Plata tequila, pineapple, raw honey, splash of fresh lime shaken with a touch of activated charcoal.
Pairing #2:
White quinoa and black bean tostadas with avocado, lime and sour cream. Paired with a Sangre de la Chihuahua made with a sipper of Altos Plata tequila served with El Camion's daily made Sangrita.
Pairing #3:
Asparagus and goats cheese quesadilla with salsa verde. Paired with a Agua del Mia cocktail made with Altos Reposado tequila, hibiscus tea, agave, fresh grapefruit juice with a hint of ginger.
Pairing #4:
Roasted butternut squash tacos with manchego and jalapeño aioli. Paired with a Horchata Borracho cocktail made with Altos Reposado tequila, spiced rice milk and bitters.
Pairing #5:
Home-made Mexican brownie. Paired with a Buena Vida cocktail made with coconut fat-washed Altos Añejo tequila stirred down with agave and a hint of coffee.
