Old School specialists Throwback are taking over Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen for the sleaziest NYE party London has to offer. Expect a night of forward-thinking music and retro beats, inspired by the lights, sounds and debauchery of 1970s New York, so dust off your platforms, break out the glitter and limber up - it’s disco fever baby!
Leading the way in the DJ booth is boogie prince The Reflex, who counts Noel Gallagher and Nile Rodgers as fans. His discography is brimming with top notch disco edits, all crafted in old school fashion - using sounds exclusively from the original recordings. The Reflex treatment gives tunes that extra bite which goes down oh so well on the dance floor, prompting world renowned DJs Giles Peterson, Disclosure & Craig Charles to utilise his fresh cuts in their sets. Prepare to throw down!
Along with the sublime offering of musical treats, Throwback (as always), will be transforming the venue Studio 54 style and bring their famous photobooth along for the fun, so don’t skimp on the outfit. We will even be making our own ‘Green Room’ on the stage where you can jump onto a chaise lounge and take a break from the dancing in style. Dressing tables will be available for those who need an extra glitter injection.
In Support is Funk aficionado Harry Wolfman has made his name in the nu-disco scene by churning out hip shakers on the likes of House of Disco, Dirt Crew Recordings and Secret Reels. His mastery of the groove has earned him dates all over Europe and he is a regular in the booth at Throwback. We just can’t enough slowmo vibes - we all love a good crooner.
Origins Sound, proponents of the deep house sound which swept over the UK in recent years will be laying down a boogie set oozing with toe tappers and booty clappers. Throwback residents Onda & Stand Alone round off the line up for the evening ensuring you ride into 2017 on a wave of funky goodness. Pack comfortable footwear.
