The Shoreditch Bar Group bring a circus-themed cocktail bar to Old Street.

Kitted out with all sorts of quirky memorabilia, guests to Cirque pull up Rubix Cube stools and sup cocktails surrounded by vintage circus posters and dangling airplane models. There’s even space for a zebra-unicorn hybrid which gazes out over the intimate dance floor.

Cocktails flow late into the night and there’s a few bites to nibble at if you’re feeling famished. Try their happy hours too for a dosing of two cocktails at just £10. DJs spin a mix of party tunes and while there’s not acres of space for cutting shapes, guests usually fashion some room to show what they can do thanks to free entry and a cool basement space.

Right...£10,50 for a single gin and tonic in a plastic cup with tonic from the tap??!! Are you kidding me?? When I double checked the waitress’s reply was ‘well we are a cocktail bar’ let me tell you smthg honey, that’s not a cocktail and your surroundings and the way you are serving it doesn’t deserve that amount of money. You are more of a joke than a cocktail bar to me. If you head to one of the most popular cocktails bars in London, the looking glass cocktail bar which is just a few minutes away, it has awesome and cool vibes, explicit music and incredible surroundings I bet you their regular drinks are cheaper and if not...well at least is well deserved. Not going back there for any reason.

Awkward comedy, not great cocktails, laboured bar service. I won't be returning to this place.

Small cocktail bar with downstairs Great interiors. Good cocktails and gave us free popcorn! Reasonable price Good location with lots of other bars around

definitely worth the happy hour if you get in early enough! probably one of the smallest bars in Shoreditch like but it had a nice buzz about it and was a nice follow up to a late lunch in Liverpool Street, will be coming back even if just for some cheap beers on the way through, thanks guys!

Really, really lovely Bramble cocktail, great happy hour and the interiors are really lovely, but the staff could do with a note. Rude to my friends and huffy when they themselves mistook an order. Also, £13.50 cocktails in East London, these could be toned down slightly

Great venue, drinks not so good. Ordered 2 cocktails .. tequila and lemon I believe. The drinks served in Martini glasses just tasted like Tequila and soda! They were so strong and bitter I could not drink it at all! Would have been better off asking for a shot glass!

I had the same experience - we went in for some cocktails and wanted to spend an evening in there - but the drinks where really really bad. Reminded me of a cheap holiday drinks - lots of food dye, fake juices and added sugar. Very expensive for the ingredients they used too. Staff are really, really slow and no charm. Such a shame as thought the venue looks really cool. If they got some decent cocktails on the list and some decent staff would be a totally different story and I bet it would be doing well. But that's not the case. Won't ever return, lots of much better places to go in the area. Don't waste your money.

I never write reviews but I took the time to register to this website just to describe the awful experience I had in Cirque bar in Shoreditch. I ordered two drinks, one was a SINGLE Jameson and soda and I was charged £11.50 just for that one. I go often to places in Myfair and Chelsea and never I have paid that for a single non-expensive spirit. The venue was just ok and the service was poor. For example the bartender Georgia, when my friend and I asked explanation about that price, did not even suggest that a double would have been just £3 more and instead acted rude. Not recommend

Really liked the venue - it was extremely quirky and had real character - however the service wasn't that great and I wasn't overly keen on the drinks either. Would go just for the atmosphere - good place to take photos.

Awful! Paid £30 for a fish bowl, was unable to drink any of it, as it tasted like undiluted Ribena. When we asked if we were able to exchange it or get a refund we were confronted with the rudest manager 'Bess' who aggressively said there was nothing wrong with the cocktail without trying it herself and then asked us to leave. The table next to us with 6 people all with individual cocktails disliked all theirs too for that same reason and were also unable to finish them. Would not recommend.

Fantastic fun, great decor and friendly bar staff. Cirque is such a cool chill out bar straight after work for happy hour beers and cocktails and Tuesdays hosts an epic comedy show called #ComedyCirque
