As party of our monthly Bull Bar Sessions, this month we are extremely pleased to present an evening with Balvenie whisky, hosted by UK Balvenie brand ambassador Alwynne Gwilt in our garden room.
Alwynne will talk us through a selection of drams with age statements ranging from 12 - 21 years as well as a liittle about the history of Balvennie and its founder William Grant. We've also been told that she will also be bringing a special surprise dram for the evening as well!
The Balvenie distillery is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky distillery in Dufftown, Scotland, owned by William Grant & Sons. It has been producing whisky since 1892 and is one of our favourite whisky's with offerings reflecting not only its over 120 year old history but also bringing in new techniques in producing whisky, notably the Doublewood.

Nestled behind a Dickensian pub frontage opposite the iconic Tea Building in Shoreditch, Bull in A China Shop is a contemporary Asian-inspired all-day restaurant and specialist whisky bar. Our extensive whisky selection boasts over 150 select Japanese and Scotch whiskies to be enjoyed as a cocktail, neat or in a highball with hand carved ice.
Our cocktail menu includes an Old Fashioned that was lauded by Time out as top 3 in London and an Espresso Martini that the Evening Standard put in its top 5.
A subtle hint of the Orient runs throughout our cosy 40-seater restaurant – you’ll be welcomed by atmospheric lighting and velvety banquettes against whitewashed brick walls alongside an eclectic collection of oriental ornaments. Our menu features eggs benedicts, superfood salads, charcoal bun sandwiches and Asian spiced whisky glazed rotisserie chicken.
