Since 2010, Bierschenke has been bringing the unique atmosphere of Munich and the Oktoberfest to the City of London. Authenticity is at the heart of the Bierschenke and their staff, dressed in traditional Lederhosen and Dirndl, serving only German beers and traditional meat and sausages from the butcher in Bavaria, is central to delivering Gemütlichkeit and a truly Bavarian experience.

The origins of Bierschenke lay in a basement bar at the Strand but its success meant that it quickly outgrew that site. The current site, in Blomfield Street, was acquired in early 2014 and re-fitted throughout with bespoke fittings and furniture manufactured by craftsmen in Bavaria. This same attention to detail drove them to approach Müllerbräu, a craft brewery from Neuötting in Bavaria, established in 1768. In collaboration with Harald, their BrauMeister and Reinhard the owner of the brewery, they have created four Signature Beers that are exclusive to Bierschenke and are the pinnacle of an unrivalled selection of the best German beers.

The spacious Beer Hall, on two floors, has a capacity of 500 people and is designed so that they can create the perfect space for private parties of all sizes. They welcome more than 100,000 guests per year, many of whom come with friends to experience the excitement of the Oktoberfest, to enjoy the traditional German Christmas celebrations or simply to enjoy good beer, home cooked German food and the Gemütlichkeit that comes naturally from sharing long tables with friends, old and new, in true German fashion.

Saturday evenings at Bierschenke offer a taste of Oktoberfest. Great beer, schnapps and a party atmosphere.
